Our History
KAT Medical was founded in 1996 by Keith Dodkins, a trained Medical Technologist. But why KAT?
Keith, a devoted family man and animal lover, wanted a name that reflected both. The K stands for Keith, while his children, Adam and Tracey, complete the A and T. Coincidentally, "Kat" is Afrikaans for "cat," making the Caracal—an animal Keith deeply admired—the perfect mascot.

KAT Medical has grown in all the right ways, now boasting a strong team of 24: four Service Engineers, two Applications Specialists, eleven Sales Representatives and seven Administrative Professionals based across the Western Cape, KwaZulu-Natal and Gauteng.
With a focus on training, service, and support, we ensure our installed instrumentation remains fully functional and reliable, strengthening the reputation of our suppliers' brands.
We serve clients across South Africa and the SADC region, with a local team that understands the unique conditions of these areas. Our strong client relationships enable us to anticipate needs and respond quickly, ensuring seamless service and support.
