T-spotTB

T-SPOT can be used for the diagnosis of diseases simply by detecting the
presence of an effector T cell response. This is particular useful in latent or
initially subclinical diseases where there is no recoverable pathogen or reliable antibody response; and thus where conventional techniques fail. Despite the technique’s exquisite sensitivity (measurement down to the individual cell level), it is a simple and robust technique that does not require the use of specialised equipment.

T-SPOT.TB is the only blood test for the detection of latent and active TB that performs well in immunocompromised patients.

T-SPOT is the world’s first and only commercialised and regulatory approved technique, manufactured under international quality standards, to directly
measure effector T cell function.

The test can be used in the following patient applications, populations and purposes:

Preventative screening amongst immunocompromised patient groups
including:
HIV, anti-TNF α therapy, renal dialysis & transplant
Targeted testing of high risk populations including:
TB suspects, contact tracing and immigrants
Screening for at-risk populations including:
Healthcare professionals / occupational health
Definitive results within 24 hours
Quick turn-around time, reduced risk of further cross infections

TB Ag MPT64 - M. TUBERCULOSIS COLONY IDENTIFICATION TEST

Biochemical, immunological and molecular biological characterization of Mycobacterium tuberculosis has led to the identification of several antigens which can discriminate between the M. tuberculosis complex and mycobacteria other than M. tuberculosis (MOTT bacilli).

M. tuberculosis has been known to secrete more than 33 different proteins. One of the predominant proteins, MPT64, is only found in the culture fluid of strains of the M. tuberculosis complex.

The SD TB Ag MPT64 is a rapid immunochromatographic identification test for the M. tuberculosis complex.

Features:

  • Simple, rapid assay using mouse monoclonal anti-MPT64
  • Rapid discrimination between the M. tuberculosis complex and MOTT bacilli
  • Identification of the M. tuberculosis complex in combination with culture systems based on liquid media
  • Sample types include: Colonies, Condensation fluids in Solid cultures and Liquid cultures
  • Test result:s in 15 minutes
  • Good correlation with M. tuberculosis PCR techniques
