Allergy Testing

Hitachi

Our in vitro diagnostic tests, the OPTIGEN™ Allergy Test, is ideally used as a front-line allergy screen and offers an alternatives to skin tests.
A completely automated system for in-vitro allergy testing, providing an industry-leading allergen testing capacity in less than six hours.
We provide one source for worldwide reliable technical support—our commitment to innovation, heritage and the strength of the Hitachi brand extend over a network of more than 40 countries worldwide.

OPTIGEN ALLERGY PANEL

The OPTIGEN® ALLERGEN-SPECIFIC IgE PANEL ASSAY

Provides clinicians with an early diagnosis tool of an allergy condition in a child, this has a high predictive value for the development of other atopic diseases such as asthma.
uses a minimal amount of serum, only 230 μL for 20 allergens, and avoids the potential trauma of skin prick tests.
results are accurate, reliable and reproducible, and correlate well with skin testing and single allergen systems.
Is state-of-the-art allergy testing technology which eliminates inventory of individual allergens and
decreases wastage thereby reducing costs.
The first OPTIGEN panel released, the Universal Panel 20, was selected with the aid of
allergists and pediatricians in different countries and targets the most common allergens
affecting children worldwide.
Is a simple, three-step process which gives same day results and requires minimal training. It provides plenty of "walk-away" time, allowing staff to perform other duties. The panel format also decreases "handling" for technicians.

Allergy Kits

The Allergy kit comes complete with all the reagents and test components necessary to perform the assay.
Wash Buffer
20 X Pettes each with 20 allergens
IgE Antibody Reagent
Photo Reagents
Stoppers for the Pettes

Key Features of OPTIGEN:

Approximately 230 μL of serum for 20 allergens.
Assay time less than 5 hours: 2 hours serum incubation and 2 hours conjugate incubation.
Semi-quantitative results reported in classes from 0 to 4.
Availability of a positive control serum with suggested ranges for several allergens for quality control.
Availability of a negative control serum for quality control.
Minimal hands-on time.
Easy set up, all allergens included in the device.
No allergen inventory needed at the testing site.
Easy procedure.
Allergy luminometer, the CLA instrumentation, is a maintenance free system.
Excellent Sensitivity due to the use of individual allergens compared with other methods using multiple allergens impregnated into a single disk / test.

THE PETTE

pette

The ingenious technology behind the success of the Allergy Panel is the PETTE, graphically represented above & alongside.
Each Pette houses 20 - 36 different individual allergens, depending on the Panel selected.
Included in the Pette is a built in Procedural and a Blank control to ensure the test has been performed correctly.

THE LUMINOMETER

LUminometer

Each allergen panel is stored on the program card of the analyser allowing upto 5 different panels to be read at once.
A control card is supplied with the analyser and emits known quantities of light to ensure the analyser is
working optimally.
